This ROM is based on the Android Open Kang Project (AOKP). This was originally made out of pure boredom and for personal use. After sharing it with a few people, we decided to take it a step further and turn it into something special while still having fun. Since then we've decided to share this ROM with the community and have ported it over to several devices to include the GNEX, Nexus 4, HTC One, Note 2, EVO 3D and much more!

Since we do not take ANY credit for the original code used in this ROM we would like to give credit and just say thanks to all the teams and individuals that have helped us in one way or another!
The names below are in no specific order.......

Hello everyone, this is UnlimitedRom.
After a lot of tweaking and work i sucessfully ported FlymeOS (aka MeizuOS) to our I9000!
After all i can't say it is a port , because i tweaked very much and i think i could say it is my rom :p
Now it is ready to get from ALPHA version to STABLE version - yeah a stable version !
You will really like this rom , it got such a nice and smooth UI and the Apps will start really fast ; Battery life is also very good.
If someone want to make a review on Youtube , i would be really happy.

There are only two little bugs:
-Network settings can't open - causes force close
-A litte graphical glitch in Lockscreen :)

All in all it is a stable version and ready for daily use.
Android version is 4.0.4 ICS , it runs fast like hell!
Screenshots are attached , the ROM looks unbelivable good and is blazing fast , even faster than Jelly Bean!
Please don't flash GAPPS for ICS , because there is already a PlayStore in the rom.

Changelog:
  1. Added new Browser - fully working
  2. Meizu Email Client tweaked - fully working
  3. Much faster connection to network and 3G
  4. BLN Buttons - enable or disable + Vibration on press

  8. Fixed problem with Toogles in Notification Bar
  9. Fixed the problem with "End Call"
  10. Speed and Battery Tweak
  11. Updateted Superuser.apk from PlayStore

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

What are these builds? Builds compiled by me, the CyanogenMod maintainer for I9000, but marked as unofficial because they didn't come from the build servers. This thread will be renamed into nightlies when they are released. If you find bugs/issues you can/must discuss here (do not submit nightlies bug on CyanogenMod issue tracker).

Installation

- First time flashing CM10.2 to your Galaxy S (or coming from another ROM)?
  1. Root your device and install ClockworkMod Recovery.
  2. Reboot into Recovery using 3-button-combo
  3. Do a Nandroid backup!
  4. WIPE (wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache partition)
  5. Install the ROM from internal sdcard using ClockworkMod Recovery
  6. Optionally install the Google Addon
- Upgrading from CM7/CM9?
  1. Do a Nandroid Backup!
  2. WIPE (wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache partition)
  3. Install the ROM from internal sdcard using ClockworkMod Recovery
  4. Optionally install the Google Addon
- Upgrading from another CM10/CM10.1/CM10.2 Build?
  1. Do a Nandroid Backup!
  2. Install the ROM from internal sdcard using ClockworkMod Recovery
  3. Optionally install the Google Addon
Note: The partition layout of CM10.2 is identical to that of CM10/CM10.1 and thus you may use CWM to backup/restore.

Known Issues
  • Focal crashes
  • SELinux warnings in dmesg
  • SELinux context of some files not always being set properly
  • Frequently crashing RILD (your phone may not be reliable as a phone!)

Reporting Bugs

You are allowed to report bugs only in this thread. Before reporting a bug, please make sure you are running as stock as possible. This means no custom kernel, no custom framework modification, etc. If you are using any of the above modifications, please flash the rom again to get rid of the modifications before reporting.

REPORT BUGS IN THIS THREAD ONLY
  • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
  • If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. The following is a useful format to follow. Note: If you can provide the latest night/build that the bug didn't exist, it would greatly help in tracking down what caused it.

FAQ
Does this ROM support FM radio?
I've checked and the new FM API in CM is not really compatible with our device without heavy modification. Applications using the new API expect to be able to read the FM input as it if were another stream, but FM on our device only does pass-through from FM receiver to speaker/headset, which causes certain functionalities to not work such as volume control. Maybe one can modify the audio routing table in the kernel to have it behave like the API expected, but I'm not really interested in investing time to do that.

TL;DR: No built-in FM radio except if someone else does it and submits a patch.

Can I request a feature?
If it is a feature in general CyanogenMod, please post the request at the CyanogenMod bug tracker.

Just like for CM9&CM10&CM10.1, I started making a CM10.2/JB4.3 kernel. The philosophy is the same: stock plus a few extras

This kernel is based on my CM10.1 Mackay kernel, updated using upstream patches from CM10.2

Thanks to all SGS-CM-kernel developers (pawitp, stratosk, DerTeufel, Glitch, mialwe, krarvind), I learned a lot from all of you!

-Updated kernel with SELinux
-Yaffs2 patches
-Updated ramdisks for JB4.3
-Updated bigmem libs for 720p recording (not yet tested)

-ALPHA build, unknown stability

All features compared to stock kernel:
Features:
-Build using the Cortax-A8 optimized Linaro 4.7.4 toolchain of Christopher83: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2098133

*“Settings>Mackay Settings” only available with Mackay ROM 3.x.x (to be released soon)
*also available through the Galaxy S & Mackay app in the launcher

On other roms, install the kernel, reboot, open /data/local/mackay/bln/recovery/navbar and change the 0 for 1. Then reboot:
bln (set to 1) BLN will be activated
chosenrecovery (set to 1) CWM will be activated
navbar (set to 1) navbar will be activated
As an alternative, Bejda developed a script for Mackay settings:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=953

bootable/recovery:
-Mackay recovery (based on CWM 6.0.3.5 & TWRP 2.6.0.0)

CWM:
-Clear NSTools settings
-Clear init.d settings
-Show battery status in recovery
-Aroma FileManager
-Include using soft keys to navigate the menu (thanks fishears for the idea)
-Enable holding keys for repeated presses
-Themed orange

TWRP:
-Themed orange
-Run recovery-apps (zip files should be present in /system/mackay, launch them through advanced->run app)
-Build in a script to reboot from twrp to cwm*

*To use this feature from TWRP, tap advanced>run app>rebootcwm.zip. Then from the homescreen choose: reboot>recovery

Source code: https://github.com/kasperhettinga/sa...s/mackay-cm102

This is a freshly started project. Ideas for improvements/additions are welcome but:
1. I try to stay close to stock
2. The time I spend on features depends on how much I like them myself

Credits:
-teamhacksung/pawitp for making CyanogenMod work on our ancient phone
-stratosk/DerTeufel/Mialwe for the inspiration I got from their kernels
-rootax for providing a high-speed server for high quality downloads

Downloadable with CMC & voodoo colour:
http://rootaxbox.no-ip.org/kasper_h/kernels/JB43/

For those who want to theme it even further, Bejda made a Mackay splash screen!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2214468

For those who want to theme TWRP (or simply get rid of the orange ;)), erpurohit made a TWRP theme:

I have been sharing my CM7/CM9/CM10/CM10.1 builds for some time in several thread, which culminated in the MackayROM. I continue now with JB4.3 from where I was for JB4.2. MackayROM is based on CyanogenMod sources, with several performance enhancements.

About Cyanogen: CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.2 (JellyBean), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
Disclaimer: I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards, thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.

If you run into errors, I may not be able to solve it!

If you know a solution to a problem, either upload it yourself to Gerrit Code Review or contact me through pm.

The ROM is based on Cyanogen sources with the following changes:
-Mackay Kernel:
-Set of cherries picked from gerrit (differing by the day)
-Some additional patches I did myself to the source code

Feature request are OK, but remember:
1. I try to stay close to stock
2. I will not include additional apps, unless they can be build from source
3. The time I spend on features depends on how much I like them myself

Main Features
1. Fast, stable and intended for gamers
2. Built from CM10.2 source with GCC 4.6 with O3 optimizations, heavily debloated , almost no 3rd party apps pre-installed
3. Stock CM Kernel included for now
4. Additional tweaks ( vary from version to version )
5. For those people who love ROMs with lots of themes , customizations , apps etc , please leave now , you will be disappointed , this ROM is not for you.

3rd party apps
Nova Launcher

I understand that my ROM will sound simple and backward to many, but it is a stable and fast base for gaming, probably the fastest without OC, and with OC, it flies.......

Due to the cleanness of this ROM, it will provide exceptional battery backup too.

So do you users want a clean gaming oriented ROM or do you want your gaming to be riddled with problems and lags forever?

Feature Requests accepted, but only stuff which enhances the speed and stability, or betters gaming speed without lessening stability will be added.

Known Bugs (CM)

Please Help me to get a Meizu MX Phone for porting FlyMe OS (look in my signature for my buggy FlyMe OS Port) to many devices by donating via PayPal. When I would have the device , i wouldn't do blind porting ; i would get a stable version from a stable source. It would be really cool. :good:

About Thread

This is unofficial CarbonRom 4.3 compiled from Source. It will be released every week (or as soon as possible). Post bugs here.

About Carbon

CarbonRom is an aftermarket firmware based on the Android Open Source Project. We are dedicated to fast, stable, and feature-filled roms, honesty and communication with our users, and openness with our code. We like frequent builds, with the very latest and greatest hardware support and fixes. We strive to not only provide you with the best rom we can build, but also to give back to the Android community and our fellow developers. For us, this is about creating something we can be proud of and hope you will enjoy.

Please feel free to look at, build, and use our code on CarbonDev GitHub.

We would like to thank CyanogenMod for their device trees, framework/settings mods and their code that was incorporated into this project. We also extend our gratitude to the devs whose code that we have incorporated. Proper authorship has been maintained and can be viewed on our repository.

Special thanks also go to Slim Rom for some of their features, PA, AOKP, and anyone else we may have borrowed commits from that hasn't been mentioned here. If you feel you have been unfairly left out, please - let us know.

While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device, family, pets, or perception of reality. We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash! If you have questions, ask your fellow users or ask us in #teamcarbon on freenode IRC.

Features

Simply stated, we can't really list features here. There are too many and they change too frequently, and we now support a truly insane number of devices. Chances are, if you like a feature, we have it already. Seriously.

Support

We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:

1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.

2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our goo.im page linked above. It's new, but expanding fast. Just like us!

3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.

4) Join our G+ Community: http://community.carbon-rom.com/ This is where we spend the bulk of our time and the best way to reach us and other community members. We update and frequent this community far more than XDA, simply due to time constraints and the convenience of G+.

5) Ask a question on our IRC channel. Connect to #teamcarbon on irc.freenode.net or click here. You'll find several other Carbon fans and usually one or more devs as well. Please be polite.
